Top Tips for a Calm Christmas

Here are my Top Tips for a Calm Christmas.

With the end of 2020 approaching, many of us are more than happy to see the back of an incredibly challenging 9 months. We might be lamenting what might have been, or wondering when this will all end, but perhaps it’s time to take a step back and into the present moment.

Here are some Top Tips to bring some Joy into your world this festive season.

I know, it seems counter-productive to getting everything done, but sleep should always be a priority. Try heading to bed before 10pm at least once a week, to wake up feeling restored and revitalised.

Find a form of exercise that works for you. Why not head outside for a walk in the winter air, try running or even stepping onto a yoga mat? Even 10-minutes a day can make you feel so much better, and will aid you in getting a restful sleep.

We are still, technically, in the autumn season or the Metal Element. This has a focus on the meridians of the lungs and large intestines. By taking time to focus on the breath, we can create a moment of calm and change your mood. Bonus points if you head outside on a cooler day, when you can see your breath!

Making time to sit in the present moment, can help you to make the most of the rest of each day. Meditating also brings you into the present moment, not worrying about the future or fretting over the past. Check out this Christmas Tree Meditation to get your festive focus on.

December is traditionally a month to munch. With so many festive treats in our homes it’s not that hard to make tasty, but nutritionally poor food choices. Try to create some balance. Maybe roast some tomatoes to have with your eggs and toast for breakfast or roast some veggies for a tasty lunch.
