What’s it all about?
Ashtanga yoga is a set sequence of postures, where we marry the breath (pranayama), eye gaze (drishti) and asana (postures) to create a flow from pose to pose. Through this practice you will be able to measure your physical progress from week to week, and as you become more accustomed to the sequence you will begin to experience it as a form of moving meditation – truly capturing the essence of yoga by uniting your mind, body and breath.
During this 6 week block we will be going back to basics – this is an ideal time to join if you are new to yoga. If you are a more seasoned practitioner, don’t worry, by looking at the foundations of the practice we can deepen the experience as we look at ways to create more balance within the sequence through examining the concepts of effort and ease.

Anything else I need to know?
We have a few yoga mats available for those who don’t have one, but it is recommended that you bring your own, if possible. Blankets, blocks and eye pillows are all provided. Bring a bottle of water and something warm to wear during relaxation at the end.

How much does this class cost?
This class is a 6 week block, which costs £35. To ensure your space, you must book online. Over the course of the 6 weeks we will build your experience and the practice.
