Attending a yoga workshop or retreat can be an excellent way to meet new friends, supplement your regular yoga practice or learn some new skills. Events are suitable for those with some yoga experience, but please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.


Retreats

Our half day retreats take place at the picturesque Strathaven Hotel. This is the ideal opportunity for you to get away for a short refresh before heading back to normality feeling restored and recommitted to your own well being.

A typical schedule for the day would be:

10am Arrive, check in and spa water

10.30am – 12pm Vinyasa flow style yoga class

12pm – 12.30pm Workshop on various themes

12.30pm – 1.30pm Lunch in our own Private Dining Area

1.30pm – 2.30pm – Yin Yoga

2.30pm – 3pm Yoga Nidra

Each of our retreats has a unique theme, previous retreats have focused on Happiness, Spring Well being, Summer Yoga Escape and Embracing Autumn. While the half day retreat is not suitable for complete beginners, it is perfect for those who have been attending a regular yoga class. There are always plenty of modifications and options available during classes to suit the various abilities on the day. Workshops

Calm before Christmas

Santa does yogaWhat it’s all about?
December can be a crazy month, with shopping, parties, more shopping and all the pressures and preparations associated with the festive season. This workshop offers you a chance to slow down, switch off and catch up with your calm. After this class you will feel ready to embrace the festive season with a renewed sense of energy and vitality.

What’s the class like?
Beginning with a calming pranayama (breathing technique) we will settle into the warm space preparing for our yoga practice. The workshop will work with the water element which is associated with winter in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Using a series of Yin Yoga poses we will work slowly and gently, holding poses for longer and creating more space in the mind and body. By remaining in poses for a longer period we can place a gentle stress on the connective tissues and joints – offering them the opportunity to strengthen and lengthen in a safe and supported manner.
Finally, class will end with a Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra means Yogic Sleep, and 30 minutes is equivalent to 2 hours of your deepest, most restorative sleep.
After our yoga and relaxation we will have some festive nibbles and a chance to have a bit of a chat.

What level is the class aimed at?
If you feel that you have no time for yourself at this time of the year, you’re rushing all over the place and rapidly becoming frazzled – this class is for you. No yoga experience? No problem, beginners are welcome at this workshop and will be warmly welcomed.

How much does this workshop cost?
This 3 hour workshop costs £30.

Saturday Morning Lie-Yin

Making it to the weekend can sometimes be a massive challenge. All we want to do is have a well-earned lie-in and take some time to recharge for the week ahead. This 90-minute class is the perfect combination of recharging and relaxation. We will work through a series of Yin-yoga postures, designed to release tension and stress from deep within the body. Using yogic breathing techniques, we will calm and restore the mind, ready for a 20-minute Yoga Nidra guided relaxation.

Other Events

Each year we support two charities and hold events throughout the year to help raise money and awareness. These events include a 60-minute donation-based yoga class and guided relaxation, followed by a cup of tea and a chance to mingle.
