Attending a yoga workshop or retreat can be an excellent way to meet new friends, supplement your regular yoga practice or learn some new skills. Events are suitable for those with some yoga experience, but please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
Our half day retreats take place at the picturesque Strathaven Hotel. This is the ideal opportunity for you to get away for a short refresh before heading back to normality feeling restored and recommitted to your own wellbeing.
A typical schedule for the day would be:
10am Arrive, check in and spa water
10.30am – 12pm Vinyasa flow style yoga class
12pm – 12.30pm Workshop on various themes
12.30pm – 1.30pm Lunch in our own Private Dining Area
1.30pm – 2.30pm – Yin Yoga
2.30pm – 3pm Yoga Nidra
Each or our retreats has a unique theme, previous retreats have focussed on Happiness, Spring Wellbeing, and a Summer Yoga Escape. While the half day retreat is not suitable for complete beginners, it is perfect for those who have been attending a regular yoga class. There are always plenty of modifications and options available during classes to suit the various abilities on the day.

A yoga workshop is between 1.5 and 2 hours, and it gives you the chance to delve a bit deeper into an aspect of yoga. Each workshop features a pranayama (breathing technique), meditation and Yoga Nidra relaxation.
Workshops for 2019:
Choco-yin Workshop – Sunday 1 September 2019, 1pm-3pm, Chatelherault
Yin yoga is a slow style of yoga which involves holding postures (asanas) for longer periods of time. This moderate stress placed upon the connective tissues of the body aims to increase circulation to the joints improving flexibility. The slower nature of this practice lends it to a more meditative approach, as we journey inwards calming our minds and releasing built up tension within the body.
During our 90-minute yin yoga class, we will enhance the healing benefits of the practise by enjoying some carefully chosen chocolate batons from Hotel Chocolat. Each pose and chocolate will complement each other perfectly, enhancing the experience of calmness, improving your brain function and encouraging a deeper level of release and relaxation.
We’ll finish with a 30-minute Yoga Nidra for the ultimate relaxation experience.
Who wouldn’t enjoy an afternoon of yoga and eating chocolate?
Calm before Christmas
Each year we support two charities and hold events throughout the year to help raise money and awareness. These events include a 60-minute free/donation-based yoga class and guided relaxation, followed by a cup of tea and a chance to mingle.
