Jackson and I enjoy our walks, in any weather we are out there getting some fresh air and spending some quality time together. Sometimes I enjoy walking in silence looking at the world around me and enjoying a walking meditation. Other days I look forward to listening to one of the many Podcasts I’ve discovered. If you’re new to Podcasts, they’re a bit like radio stations without the music. It’s like listening into a conversation between two friends. I have a few favourites which you could try out if you’re interested. But I’d also love to hear your recommendations too.
- 10% happier
This podcast is hosted by ABC news anchor Dan Harris. Dan had a panic attack on live tv several years ago and discovered meditation shortly after this. His podcast discusses meditation with teachers, practitioners and sceptics. It’s nice to listen to if you’re interested in developing a mediation practice or already have one and would like to learn more.
- Happy Place
The lovely Fearne Cotton hosts this offering, which is a weekly interview with her friends, colleagues and others in the public eye. Discussions centre around life and happiness, with each discussion being unique. A new episode is available each Monday, but there is a wealth of previous interviews to enjoy.
- Oprah’s Master Class: The Podcast
This is all about the greatest lessons learned by some of the most respected people in public life, including Justin Timberlake, Dr Condoleezza Rice, Dwayne Johnson and Whoopi Goldberg. I really enjoyed listening to The Rock tell his story, including challenges and successes, in his own words – very inspirational.
- The Tony Robbins Podcast
Tony Robbins is a motivational speaker, life coach and pretty amazing guy. His tagline is, ‘Why live an ordinary life, when you can live an extraordinary one?’ This podcast is a mixture of interviews with successful business people and experts from a variety of fields. You are guaranteed to learn something new and might just feel a bit motivated too.
- How to fail with Elizabeth Day
Author Elizabeth Day interviews a variety of people from all walks of life with one goal – they must identify their top 3 failures in life, and what they learned from them. My favourites include the episode with Malcolm Gladwell (8/1/2020) and Dame Kelly Holmes (24/7/2019)
