A Journey Back to Yin Yoga for Wellbeing

I recently took a mental break over the past few months, and not by choice. My routine of blog posts, videos, emails, and social media content came to a complete halt. This is how I got my mojo back through and found my joy on my journey back to yin yoga for wellbeing.

How did I lose my passion?

  1. Neglect What You Love: In my case, neglecting yoga, journaling, meditation, and activities that nourish my soul led to a gradual decline in inspiration. Instead of replenishing my cup, I allowed it to drain, leaving me feeling uninspired and lost.
  2. Social Media Scroll: Losing passion for a project becomes almost inevitable when you spend excessive time on social media. I convinced myself I was seeking relaxation and inspiration, but in reality, it often turned into endless scrolling, leading to comparison and self-doubt.
  3. Screen Time Overload: Our devices offer more than just social media distractions. Various apps and games, along with TV shows and movies, can captivate us. I found myself losing hours to mindless activities, diverting my focus from what truly mattered.
  4. Health Challenges: Falling ill repeatedly, from getting stitches in my leg to persistent sinus infections, created a barrier to any creative pursuit. Navigating through daily challenges became my primary focus, leaving no room for inspiration.
  5. Inner Critic’s Monologue: Listening to the relentless voices of self-doubt can be a significant inspiration killer. Your inner critic will always sound louder until you consciously challenge it, reminding yourself that it’s just one opinion among many.

The Turning Point: Super New Moon in Aquarius (9 February 2023)

As fortune would have it, just as I started feeling better, the Super New Moon in Aquarius arrived. Symbolising the slow emergence from winter’s darkness, this moon brings hope, change, and a desire for freedom. It sparks inspiration and clarity for new ideas and projects. Basically everything I had been waiting for and needing from the universe, to help me overcome my self-doubts and begin the long, slow process of moving forwards. I knew that in order to move forwards I needed to focus on yin yoga for my own wellbeing, in order to better support others.

With the first signs of spring and the energy of the Aquarian New Moon, I’m taking a leap of faith. I choose to believe in my potential and pursue ideas that I once deemed myself unworthy of. Over the next few days, I’ll be venturing into new projects, trusting that the universe is on my side.

Remember, passion isn’t lost forever; it just needs a bit of care and attention to reignite. Let this be an encouragement for you to nurture your passions and overcome the obstacles that might come your way.
